Radcliffe Custom Rods was born on the ice of the Mississippi River backwaters in early 2018, as a dream to create fishing rods better than anything available on the store shelf.  Launching later that year, Radcliffe Custom Rods sources today’s top-shelf components and handcrafts each rod in our home workshops, always keeping the angler’s fishing style and preferences top of mind.  Whether open water or ice fishing is your gig, once one of our rods is in your hand you will feel the undeniable difference.  From our beginning with just a few ice rod models to our current array of products, including our first release of summer technique specific rods in 2020, we continue to innovate, fully field test our products and grow to meet the needs of you, our customer. 

 

Dale Radcliffe and Eric Horstman, uncle and nephew, are avid fishermen just like generations of Radcliffe’s before them.  From what was once necessity to now recreation, the passion for fishing runs deep and strong.  We take our fishing seriously and Radcliffe Custom Rods are each custom crafted based on years of trial and error. Radcliffe Custom Rods are built in honor of James, Alfred, and Jerry Radcliffe (all pictured within this site) who all believed in high standards, quality, and integrity in doing things right the first time.  These are the standards we put into each and every build .  Radcliffe Custom Rods h0lds an even deeper meaning for us as we lost two of our best fishing buddies in 2020, Dad/Grandpa Jerry Radcliffe and Brother/Uncle Mark Radcliffe.  We know they are watching from above and until we can fish together again, we will continue to enjoy the sport and create products they passionately believed in.  "Crafted for Catching".
